Engine + Frame = ?
I have a 429 that really twists the engine mounts on my 78 shortbox and had a question. If i chain my drivers side head at the front to my frame, will i need to use frame connectors or make my stock frame any stronger or can i just do it and not worry about it bending? hp and torque is unknown but guessing is about 400 rpm= 370 hp & 420 lb/ftof torque???!!!

I run a 429 in my mud truck,it rips the rubber from the motor mount plates as soon as you get on it.I chained the engine 5 years ago and havent had a problem with it bending the frame.I am running 5:13 gears and 40" tires.

Sounds a lot like my old 57 Cheby Tudor that I had plopped a built-to-the-gills L-88 into. 5:13 rear end, Muncie close ratio 12:1 compression.....etc etc etc -- used to have fun popping the clutch and making it jump coke bottles....
I used a chain to lock down the engine to the frame - never had a problem...
