c6 question

this is only my second full size ford and my other one was a 4 speed manual so it might be nothing.
just wondering when I drive and let off the gas (pretty much all speeds) I hear a failry loud whirring/whining from back end, not so loud anyone else notices it. Is this normal? When I give it gas it goes away. Seems to shift and drive just fine. Thanks!
