I have had my '05 V-10 just stop running while sitting at a stoplight twice in the last couple of months. No other issues. It runs like a dream. Just out of the blue, it will die while waiting at a stoplight. I remember seeing a thread here about something similar, but I seem to remember it being about PSDs. They were talking about a cam position sensor, I believe. Is that a V-10 issue? Do I have something else going on? Any thoughts? I am still under the factory warranty, by the way, until this coming Sept.
When u start the truck back up, do u have to put ur foot on the throttle to either get it started or to keep it running? If u do, then u for sure have a IAC problem. They are very cheap to replace and it takes doesnt take someone long to do it
I'm thinking that the dealer will be fixing whatever the problem is. I do not have to do anything special to restart the engine. It just dies while idling in gear at a stoplight.
My wife's '05 Ex V-10 did the same thing not long after we bought it. She was out with some friends idling through a christmas light show, when it died 4 times within about a 1/2 hr. never a problem restarting, would fire right back up. I took it to the dealer, they said the only thing they could find was were the computer HAD showed the VSS sensor had triped. Of course, was fine at the time of testing, so they couldnt do anything. Don't remember the check engine light coming on.
