Ignition/starter problems
Need some help with a problem, I have a 1999 f150 5.4L engine 4x4. Truck has been idle for 15 months, upon putting truck back onroad the following issues have come up: Truck starts fine but after it runs for about 1/2 hour the starter tries to start the truck while its running! It Kicks in and out. when I turn the truck off and I turn the key back to on position ( not start position), the starter again tries to kick in. After this when I took the key out entirely, about an hour later, the starter was once again trying to kick in and at the same time my running lights were going on and off. My radio clock was blinking on and off also. For a couple of years prior to this, my wipers would go on and off randomly especailly when making a turn. Could this be a ignition wire harness problem, such as pinched wires etc? It seems like all the problems are associated with the ignition. Replaced the solenoid today and before it was offroad for 15 months, i replaced the starter becasue at that time it wasnt engaging at all. New battery installed in the past two weeks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
