Water Wetter

I've used a product called Water Wetter in my Mustang for the past couple of years and now have decided to use it in the truck. The truck tends to run pretty warm with the air on and in these 90 degree days. Water Wetter worked great in my Mustang so I was wondering if anyone else has ever used it in their truck. I just don't like that motor cooking away at 200+.

I have not used it in my truck but I have in other vehicles. There is no reason you should not use it. It simply reduces the size of the bubbles that are present in the coolant especially in the heads and other very hot areas. By reducing the bubble size there is greater surface contact with the coolant and thus greater heat transfer.

Your truck may be running at the right temp though. Running in the 190 degree range is certainly okay and maybe even a bit warmer. Make sure you are getting an acuarate read on the temps.

But, if the temps are running up when you are in slow or stopped traffic you may well have problems with either a bad fan clutch or restricted flow throughout the cooling system (most likely the radiator). Plus a greater then 50% mixture of antifreeze will make it run warmer. Water wetter will not solve basic problems you may have with the cooling system but, it will not hurt anything either.

Good luck,

Mark
