Anyone ever change out the mirrors on their Excursion? Do you need any special tools? Do you if F250 or F350 Super Duty mirrors will swap in easy? it looks to be the same doors at the super dutys
Hi Stouttrout,
I did not pick out what year X you had. I have changed the mirrors on my '01 X. They were a direct bolt in swap with the '03 that I wanted. HOWEVER, the wiring harness was different. In order for my turn signals to work with the running lights, that was the part that needed patience. My '01 just had the small mirrors with the turn signals only. I wanted to have telescoping mirrors with the built in turn signal and marker lights. That is why I chose the '03. If you choose factory parts (I did), they will bolt right in. But it will depend what you want your mirrors for. I couldn't see around the trailer, I felt that I didn't have a choice.
Thanks for all the info. I am going to go Junk Yarding this week to find what I am looking for. nah2osurfer, That is exactly why I want them. I will be pulling a 20 carhauler with a Jeep on it from time to time and a Travel trailer. The extension Mirrors on my '06 F250 are very nice to have and huge in comparison.
