Ranch adjustable shocks
I'm looking for some advice on the Rancho adjustable shocks. My truck is an 05 FX4 super crew. I put the leveling kit on the front so I'll get the regular shocks for the front. I'm looking to get adjustable for the rear when towing my boat or cargo trailer. Couple questions...1) how do they adjust, is it just turning a dial to raise while on the truck? 2) How well do they hold up compared to regular shocks? 3) Rancho or Bilstein?
Thought I read while searching the bilsteins have to be set before putting on the truck, are they all this way?

The Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks do not adjust the height of the truck at all. It adjusts how it rides as far as compression/rebound. You basically only use them when you are getting ready to off-road not for hualing.

I had these ranchos with the air pump and controller to control ride firmness. The fitting leaked even with lithium grease on all of them, didn't hold there setting for more than a few minutes. But if you keep the manual adjuster **** on them instead of putting the air system on like i did they work with no problems.
