So Dick,

whats a better motor to put in an old ford truck, a 350, or a 454?

If chevy, dodge, and all the other makes were so good, why aren't there more of their bodies out there to put "proper" engines in? Ford was just simply made best. And qualifying that a chevy engine is "more dependable" is pure horsepuckey. Any small block Ford is as dependable if not moreso than any smallblock Chivvy. And that's fact.

NOW >>> Here's what yall do. If I bore you... If I offend you... if you just don't like me ( or anyone else, for that matter)... there's a handy solution... because nobody's chasing me off from FTE until I'm ready to leave again.

Click all "offensive" usernames and check their profile. While you're there, click the "ignore this user" option and you'll no longer see that person's posts. I'm sure once that person knows he or she is being ignored, they can do the same in return.

There ya have it. I've talked with several users who no longer post because of the mouthiness and "know-it-all-ness" of certain individuals. I told them the same thing... simply ignore that person and they'll no longer be a bother to you.

Sorry it seems to come to this, but FTE is getting more "cliquey" every day. And ya know what? I just plain don't care.
I know I'm new here and I have not seen or read the the post you're referring to, but based on you response here.....can I add you to my buddy list!!! LOL!!!!

I was the one that pissed him off in the 350 in a 69 mustang thread a week ago.

You are entitled to your views, you didn't offend me by being a purist. I cosider myself a purist also. But I was defending that it was the owners choice and he can do what ever he wants in his car. I personally thought it was stupid, but like I said before, "looks good from my house", meaning I don't have to look at it. I just have to have that frame of mind when I go to car shows these days. I'd take a flat head over a 350 in an old hotrod or shoebox anyday.

well, i guess i am the odd duck here, cause i helped a friend years ago put a 53 lincoln flathead V8 in an old chevy pickup.
it was from the late 20's, like a 28 or a 29

we took our time, and it came out perfect.

the reason??
he loved the looks of the truck, but also loved the ford flathead engines.

Dan... can I reach out and whack ya?

Daggon it, I keep sayin' ya can't be usin' mah name in vain! Tsk, tsk, tsk. What am I gonna do with the likes of ya?

And thanks Dennis. I think highly of you, also.

Hey folks... I be not the only one to rant on here, now and again. There are days, I feel it my official duty! Just like some others like to do, time to time.

Truly, what brought the issue to mind, was some emails I've received recently. Some people have quit posting due to excessive "issues" with other users. Some people have thought about just plain leaving and finding another site.

So, I figured getting attention brought to the ignore feature, might keep some folks from being intimidated, harassed or whatever goes on that is bothersome and/or threatening. The ignore button would take care of some of those issues and make it easier on the "offended" parties.

I'll not mention anyone's names, but there are times when I feel lots of people feel personally attacked or their posts made to seem insignificant or "useless", due to someone else's "better" opinion. With that, I strongly urge postes, whether it be here or in the club, to think about other folks feelings when responding to an "opinion" of theirs. It's wonderful to disagree or agree to disagree. But, trying to make someone feel badly for believing as they do, just doesn't seem right.

Anyway... yeah, Dono, I'm back on my meds..... :-P .. and I even repped ya, ya cantankerous old fart. Yer almost as bad as me. I'd have repped more of ya here, but gotta spread the love around. Grr. Wish it didn't have to be spread so far, sometimes. But that's another rant, eh?

Anyway... keep the rep points coming. Y'all finally got me my 5th box.
