Fuses and relays are tested, ok.
To pumps wires comes only 6-7 volts!!
I tested pump directly with 12 volts and it works ok.
Some knowhow would be welcome.
(ex leaved on street, bad idle, no power.Max speed 30 km/h.
I changed fuel filter, and i think there is water in dieselfuel.I left filter housing open to pump possible water out, but no pumping)
Car is ex 2000 7.3 powerstroke 4 x 4.
Sounds like the fuel pump, I had to replace mine. But I drove from virginia to new hampshire with a bad fuel pump. And i was pulling a trailer too. Talk about a sucky ride. Try to get as much fuel out of the tank as possible, I used a floor jack to drop my tank, big plastic cap holds the fuel pump in, remove the ring, pull out the pump, install the new pump, one note though is to put the plastic ring in a pan of hot water, let it expand, then put it on. It is a bear to get off, but if heated up it will go on alot easier.
Brian, i mean feedpump in the body, placed around where is drivers seat.
Feed pump does not get enought volts.
Pump works with help wires, 12 v, ok.
But, to original wires comes only 6-7 v.
Yes, there is diod in engine rooms fuse box, but pump does not run with 7 volts.
Or, is it 6 v pump ?
Its amazing, its like relay problem, but no.
I tested with jump wire, not run.
