My 2003 KR just turned 103,000 miles no more warranty so I am on a mission to delete the entire EGR sysyem via the delete kit. I know its different for the early 6.0s but can't find the exact thread when searching. Here are my Q's:
What is the "kit" for the 2003's?
Has anyone done one before, how difficult?
What sponsor sells one...Thanks
You do not have to go as far as deleting the the EGR cooler, just prevent the flow of exhaust gas. I modified my up pipe and capped the cooler off...the cooler is not effected anymore. If you want extreme you can delete it on your own instead of sending $$$ to an over priced answer.
The cause of the cooler failure is extreme heat, no heat, no failure. I have had my up-pipe done for several years and run Matt's custom files, if anything was ever going to break, it would have by now.
hey guys, i know i'm bringing an old post back to life here but i was wondering if i do what maximum 4X4 did and nothing else will i throw a code for no egr flow? i tried unplugging my egr before and it didn't throw a cel, but i understand that just because there is no light on the dash doesn't mean the turbo doesn't go into a fixed vien "limp" mode. thanks
