windshield wiper problem
when ever it rains and i put on my wipers my truck starts surging and check engine light comes on its weird if i put wipers on when its not raining it doesnt do it only when its wet has anyone had this problem??

Well next time you get the CEL & surging with the wipers try turning the wipers off (when it's safe to do so) and see if the problem continues. I'm guessing your issue is with the rain and not the wipers since it is fine with wipers in dry weather.
Off the top of my head the things to check are 1) good seal and connection at CPS wiring plug. 2) small windshield leak onto the fuse box or PCM in some 99 models, & 3) Issue at the fender allowing the IDM to get wet.
Of course it will need to be raining and acting up before you can start really checking these things. Good Luck.
