Hi, guys. Haven't been here for awhile cuz my sons been away at college with the Bronc. We put the window down yesterday to open the tailgate, and when we were done moving, the window wouldn't go back up. I know theres some kind of microswitch on the inside tailgate handle, and I can hear some clicking inside the panel when the switch is activated. We took the interior access panel off, thinking the motor and regulator were on the inside part of the glass. Anyway, we checked the wiring enough to see that the motor is plugged in pretty solidly, and then tried to activate the window with the key switch. You can hear clicking from the area of the key, but no movement. Does anyone know if you can get the glass closed without the motor working, or any major surgery?
try pushing against the tailgate on the drivers side while someone holds the switch. There is a safety switch inside the driver side latch and if your strike bolt bushings are worn/missing it might not close the switch. I have found that is the most common problem with the rear window so start there and see what you find
slam tailgait shut and try with key. it worked for me. oh yea i think i sprayed some contact cleaner in it also, not sure what kind,it was several years ago. crs
