i ran across this while looking for a system i saw on deisel world for my father in laws 7.3L. it is a new product for the 08 that does not need you to get rid of the DPF for it to work. My question is do you think it is worth it or is it just pipe and a tip trying to pass as an exhuast setup. Rolling Big Power DPF-back exhuast set up

The DPF gets all the bad stuff out of the exhaust...so the muffler is just done away with
ok now this has turned into the question of will any DPF back systems work on these new trucks. I hear alot of talk about performance but no real awnser to the code dumping question or even code dumping in the future
I saw somewhere in the manuals that came with the truck that showed the part of the exhaust that could be changed. it was ok to change the muffler and all the pipe from the DPF back but for some reason it was not ok to remove the tip. All this without affecting the warrantee, and assume no code dumping due to the fact there are no sensors in that portion.
i still do not understand how the tip effects anything, they it has something to do with lowering EGTs but i do not see how a 5" tip or 4" tip with some cuts in the pipe will do the same thing
The rear exhaust tip has the vents to allow cool air to enter the tip due through the vents due to the suction action of the exhaust air passing over the vents. The cool air mixes with the hot exhaust to cool it. The temperature at the DPF can be 1000F during Re-Gen so at the exhaust tip the air is still very hot and may burn someone. The cool outside air comming through the vents will mix and reduce the hot exhaust temperature.
The exhaust tip is an emission item and must not be removed to protect your emissions warranty.
