1999 F350 SD Engine problems

I have a 1999 ford f-350 SD with a 5.4 engine. I've had it for a few months and lately after the engine warms up at about a quarter throttle it starts to miss and runs extremely rough. It idles fine and in the first quarter part of the throttle it runs fine. Also if you shut the engine off for approx 10 seconds and restart it, it runs fine for awhile. There are no engine codes. I have replaced the fuel filter, and cat converter and cleaned the MAF sensor. Any ideas?

Have you cleaned out the EGR valve?

Posssibly a clogged cat?

Are you using a scanner that reads pending codes? I have an 04 same motor ran ok, missed occassionally, never thru a check engine light. Drove it for a year until it really started missing. It still didn't throw a check engine light #6 cop was bad.

You may be lucky. When you say it runs "extremely rough", it just might be rough enough to throw a code. Take it to AutoZone and get them to read it for free.
