My girlfriend has the 1.8T, she loves the turbo. We should've gotten her the TDI though. Like 50 MPGs! What's diesel running you up there in Oak Harbor?
Why isn't any cheaper, The TDI may get 50 mpg which is awesome but they for over 10k. the one we got was 4k you would never recoup the savings on fuel due to the higher cost of the car
There's bio popping up everywhere. There's been no change in price though. That's about what I'm paying, around 3.39-3.59
While bio is popping up everywhere, it still doesn't have a big enough presence in the fuel market place in order to have any effect on petro diesel. Alot of people are saying bio isn't going to do anything however, they don't mention that it at most has 20% of the market, that's not enough to have any type of determing factor, when it hits starts to get around 35-40 percent, then it should have enough market shares to create a dent in fuel prices if it will at all.
I think it's more of a supply and demand issue now. There is enough demand, but not enough supply. I know there are 3 pumps that are within reasonable distance to go and fill up that have biofuel, but they are almost always empty and the delivery schedule for their biofuel is pretty random, more so then petro and I think that has a factor on it as well. I have yet to run bio just because of those two things although I would like to.
Hey guys there may be hope after all. I (even though I forgot which site!) read that roughly about 2009 fuel prices are going to level off. Hopefully around $2 or below. Since there hasn't been a new refinery built since around the 70's(that's what I read anyway) the oil companies can't keep up. I, off hand can't remember the technical terms but market and big oil analysts say prices will stabilize. Was this article hogwash, snake oil? I saw it on like CNN or something like that so I can honestly say I hope it's not a farce. Anyone with info or opinions, chime in at any time.....oh....once again LOL! Sorry Orion. This thread has gotten out of control!
No worries, like I said my original question has been answered. Think this new line may have deserved it's own thread. Rookie you know anything about Jetta's if so send me an e-mail or PM so we can maybe eventually let this thread die.

As of right now I know nothing but how to change the oil LOL. Damn German rides got me all confused. But I'll keep in touch with questions and concerns. As of now we can now officially let this thread go. RIP! I'll see ya in the 6.0, Superduty, Alternative fuels, and General Diesel forums.
