i have an 83 f150 302 4wd. when im driving down the road i hear a real faint hard to hear high pitched beeping. it lasts from 2secs to 5secs. cant really tell where its coming from cause its so faint. it seems like it happens randomly but ive noticed it when turning, and driving slowly.
ive noticed the noise seems to be getting worse. it seems to coincicde with the oil presure gauge, sometimes oiil pressure will read low and i can hear the beeping but sometimes my oil pressure will be normal and itll sound fine.
On certain problems, if you can't find it you just have to keep driving it till it gets really bad before you can figure it out. Sorry, but I have no clue what else to tell you.
dont think so,my truck definetly idles fast. ill be going down the road at 10-15mph not touching the gas. i just put in a new filter and did an oil change about a month ago cause the fuel pump went and it smelled like i got gas in the oil.
If you are going by the factory guage, You might have a loose wire on the sending unit, or a bad sending unit. If you are really concerned about the oil pressure, I would buy a aftermarket mechanical guage and hook it up. If the oil pressure drops drastically, pecking and other noises soon follow.
