It could be if the thing hasn't been relubed that the grease lost it's ability to keep
the oil in the grease when it cools down!! Grease is nothing more than a carrier for
oil. I would take it apart and regrease you could replace the o rings but it isn't
needed if the grease is more than a few years old it is just dropping the oil. Don't
take this as a ohh don't worry response you definately need to regrease since the
grease now is nothing but the carrier matrix, If it's a DD and you get on the highway
and or high speeds you are flirting with disaster as MH would say!!

I go with what blue beast is saying, also look to see if you have a o-ring seal on the hub, my 80 does.

I think you are saying that your wheel seal is leaking.

I agree with Blue Beast. I had the passenger side inner bearing seize up on me on the freeway. Both caliper pins blew out and the rotor / hub assembly came off the spindle. I was lucky enough to limp into the Holiday Inn parking lot and have AAA tow me home. Pulling the hub apart, changing the bearings, and repacking them with some good synthetic grease will possibly save you some greif. It's routine maintenace and easy to do...

I think he's saying its seaping out the lockout hub and makeing the wheel dirty. You can take off the hub and put some sylicone on the o-ring. Most hubs leak a little. The best answer is to get the crome sleeves that go out far enough to catch the grease so it doesnt get on the wheel. Of course, if its leaking alot, you need to follow the advice above. Doing it on the highway is no fun.
