Ok heres my little predicament, The guy at the shop that is doing the work on my heads says he cant find oversize stock length ss valves. The only ones he has found are I think .100 longer on the exhuast and .05 on the intake. The heads are D0VE heads and I was just planning on running the stock rockers arms with the adjustable nuts for a little while, then switch to roller rockers. I know some of yall have ss valves, did you have the same problem. What are my options here.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about iron heads but when I was running the aluminum SVO heads the valves were .100 longer SS valves made for BB Ch**ies.
If you run longer valves in your cast heads ( or any head for that matter)it will require push-rods of a different length to maintain your valve-train geometry. Deen
Why longer length valves for a stock application? Steel or SS, that'll affect installed spring height.
Most automotive machinists have an index book that shows the valve measurements for every type of head/valve combination ever manufactured based on head thickness and installed spring height. That's a pretty common application and if he doesn't have the index, I'd think his supplier should be able to provide him with part numbers.
He says he cant find any ss valves that are the same height as the stock ones. I find this hard to believe but it may be true. Ill ask him about that index and see what he says. I just checked the summit catalog and it shows some Manley valves that say stock length, and on the next page are some Milodon valves for 68-72 heads, but unsure on there length. Who makes a better valve? When I go to talk to him Ill take the summit catalog and see what he says.
Thanks
