Thinking about getting a 2003-2004 - advice?
I am thinking about getting a 2003-2004 6.0 - I don't have the funds fro something newer. I used to have a 2000 7.3 that I really liked. Is 100k too many miles on the 6.0's and can I get rid of a lot of the turbo lag with a DP tuner?
Any other advice would be great.

Check the oasis on any of the trucks you are considering, the tuner of choice for the 6.0 is the sct xcal3 with matt at spartan diesel writing the tunes, check this forum out and you'll find a ton of information. I have an 03 and I am just coming up on 120K miles and still feel safe taking my truck on cross country road trips

The 6.0 engines are a tad more touchy then the 7.3's but most people have very positive experiences. They maintain their trucks ON SCHEDULE and in return their trucks take care of them. Definitely get an oasis - avoid reoccurring problems like injectors, EGR's, and turbo problems. GL!
