Reward: Lost Power Steering cap

I am now on my third PS cap. Second one in 8 months. For some reason it just shows up missing. The first time it happened I just got thru pressure washing the engine so I may have blown it loose. But it happened again the other day.

Is it possible that the pump is going bad and building too much pressure or is it just my luck?

Check to see if a hose or something is rubbing against it and knocking it loose.

Fashion a cable or chain to it. It may still come off but at least you will have the cap.
Rog

ps
Clean the area really well and use Gorilla Tape.
Nothing gets past the Gorilla.

I have thought about superglue or plastic weld it on. Just can't seem to pull myself to do that.

Fluid level is normal.

I am beginning to think the cap thief is a viable option. Maybe the neighborhood cat. Not sure.

Anyway I was just thinking pressure was building in the reservoir. Steering works fine with no changes in the way it has for 11 years now. This just puzzles me. Getting tired of buying caps this year.

must have been the gremlins. Oh yeah those are on gassers. It must've been the munchkins. I hear they can travel across state lines without a passport.
