Alright somebody humor me. I have two issues on my truck. The first is probably something simple: My cargo lights over the bed do not turn when I open the door or when I try to activate them by the switch. They do not come on at all. I checked the bulbs, they're both good......Anyway to turn these off that I don't know about?
The second: I have one of those LED strips on my truck. It is wired directly into the trailer harness, however they stay on dimly after the truck is turned off, and the right side built in turn signal doesn't work. This led me to believe there is a short, however the trailer does not do either of the above, the lights turn off and on appropriately and the th turn signals work. I rewired it anyway and it still doing it. Is it a faulty LED strip? If so, how does it stay with no power going to it?
I would check for a bad ground on the cargo light. Did you check it to see that there is power going to it? A fuse? Not trying to make you feel silly but you didn't say of you checked anything else.
An LED will light up with a lot less power than a regular bulb so your wiring may be goofy when the trailer is hooked up too but there's not enough juice to light the bulbs. Happy hunting.......
I'm thinking about unplugging the dammed leds cuz they are just making me mad.....LOL. All my trailer wiring works prefect so I'm not all that worried about it. Also, no didn't check for ground on the lights outside, did check the fuse, only fuse I could figure it to be is #7 and it is good. My interior lights work like they should, the dome light and both map lights.... I'll let you know what else I find.
