The solenoids or actuators get a little weak after a while.

Do the switch's on the other doors work? If so, it is possible the driver's door panel switch's are simply cruddy. A simple easy fix is to pour a few ounces of rubbing alchol into the panel. Then operate the switch's a bunch of times. I have been using this trick with good results ever since power locks and or power windows were first introduced. Yes, I am that old.
