49 spindles
hi everyone! I am working on a 49 mercury m68 which is the same as an f3 ford. I am wondering if anyone knows if the front spindles are the same on an f1 because the king pins seem to be the same in parts catalogues. The reason I am asking is that I want to do a front disc brake conversion and I want to know if the f1 conversion will work on the f3 spindles or does anyone know who makes one or what would make a good conversion?

Welcome to FTE. This has been covered a couple times before, but I don't remember the answer off hand. First, I'd like to say that the bolt pattern between the two are 5 lug (F1), and 8 lug (f3). Someone will have the fer-sure answer soon enough.

thanks for the info. I was looking in my ndp catalog and it shows that the springs are the same as the f-1.also i'm thinking of putting a 351w with a 4 spd od automatic out of a 1980 lincoln or a 302 with a fmx trans or does anybody know if the 302 will bolt up to 4spd od trans
