anyone ever have a problem when you change the oil and wipe down all the underneath surfaces you can reach, you still seem to get a small amount of oil that drips down? i cleaned everything i could reach and when i added my oil, there was a small amount that dripped on the ground. took it to a mechanic and he said it was excess because he sprayed cleaner up there and blew everything out with an air hose, then no more oil drips.

On my 00 there was bound to be some drops left on top of the shield, or what ever it is, where some oil will inevitably go when you take off the filter. No matter how well you wipe that area, there will still be some left.
I haven't changed the oil on my 04 yet so I'm actually not sure if that has the same "feature".
No mater how you shake, wipe and pray that last drop always falls on your drive...way...
Sorry couldn't resist. My 98 Lincoln, 00 Mustang vert and 03 EXP are almost impossible to get every drop of oil wiped up, I leave a piece of cardboard underneath for a day to make sure I dont drop on the driveway.
I still dont get the idea of putting an oil filter sideways? I miss the old days of perpendicular oil filters, never spill a drop or worry about a mess...sigh
