The casting numbers and date codes on the block are above the starter. As for what vehicle it was originally installed in, there's no way to tell. The casting numbers only indicate the vehicle line the engineering costs were assigned to. (casting number=engineering number) The head casting numbers are on the bottom side of the intake runners. If you have 86-up heads, these can be identified by a letter cast in the lower front corner of the passenger side head (opposite corner of the driver's side head, as it's reversed) next to the valve cover. A "T" here would be an E7TE head. An "S" there would be an E6SE head, a "P" there would be a GT40P head. The GT40 iron heads also have vertical bars cast into the ends of the head.
