Why do you need casting numbers?
They don't really tell you anything, because casting numbers don't translate to part numbers.

Example: D1VE-6015-AB .. 429/460 bare block was cast in 1971...the same casting was still being used in 1979!
The 351W block/heads were first cast in 1968 for model year 1969. The finished block was used thru 1978.
Please explain to me how the 1969 casting date will help someone date their engine. It won't!
351W = Ford/Merc passenger cars 1969/86. Econolines 1975 thru 1996. F Series trucks and Bronco's 1980 thru 1996.
