Hard shift? reverse and 4lo?

Hard shift? reverse and 4lo?
Does any one elses trucks have a hard shift when coming out of reverse or in or out of 4low (dont remember which way for 4low now)? My dads truck does and I didnt no if that was just the way it worked or if he needs to get it checked out.

mine shifts real hard when puttin it in reverse when your leavin if you were parked uphill or if ya bumped into one of them parkin stops to hard when ya pulled in. it also seems to be searching for 2nd gear when its cold and you hammer down it screams out the motor for awhile b4 it shifts i donno if tahts good or bad...or if tis just cuz its cold
