I'm still here...

As Mark Twain said, "Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated".

I saw in one of the locked posts that Russ thought I was gone, so I figured I'd better chime in. It's too cold to work on the truck, and I don't have any money right now, so I'm just lurking. I'll probably get active again about March.

I've got a bunch of stuff to do to the truck to try for a 6.99 at the drag strip. Driveline loops, bracing the steering box, which was flexing horribly, and finishing with the roll cage just to name a few.

Also, my last couple of trips to the track I used some old 35" BFG mudders to try to reduce rotating weight. It takes about 32lbs off each wheel. Now, even locked in 4-wheel drive, it spins all 4 tires for over 100' . So the combination of weight savings and the gearing advantage of the smaller tire overwhelms them off the line. Too bad, because I think if I could stay hooked up I'd have my 6.99.

So that's my story.
