Don't know if this will apply to you since I am not sure what years it did affect and you are changing the whole setup anyway.
But... some late 80s 460s had an alternator mounting bracket that I have been told was very hard to find, several junk yards said the same when I looked for one. But since you are changing the setup, I would highly recommend you collect all the brackets and pulleys and even things like the alternator and punmps etc. Or if you have really good memory for what things look like, you could pick and choose only what you need.
If you *don't* plan to use an air pump with the serpentine setup, you'll need the idler wheel and mounting bracket that replaces it on the 90s California emissions 460s.

Something to watch out for. The serp 460 I have (89) had a HUGE aluminum casting to mount the PS pump. I am putting it in a 70 F250 and this would stab the PS pump into the frame. Since I don't have A/C I sawed off the offending casting, welded up a bracket, and put the PS pump where the A/C compressor was. 80s and up frames were wider and did not have this problem.
I believe the first year for a serpentine system on the 460,was in mid-1987 when Ford gave the 460 EFI.March Performance now offers a serpentine set-up for use on 429/460 engines. You might want to try contacting them,or visting their website. Good luck.

I picked up the aluminum mounting brackets from a boneyard. They seem to fit fine. I don't know where you had a fitment problem. This is going in a 71 F250 Camper Special. Seems to be pleanty of room in there so far. I can take a photo if you like.
Now with my next question. Does anyone make underdrive pulleys for EFI 460s? If so, WHO?
hey man, i posted a while back about my experience with mounting the newer style serpentine drive onto an older motor. i got mine from a 89 dually(got the truck too...heh, whatever). easy swap. and as for the air pump, ill check and see what belt i used, just take the pump off, and run a shorter belt. ill post the length when i can(should be in a day or so). oh, the early non efi heads and late model efi heads have different bolt sizes on two of the holes on the front of the head(i think its two...pretty sure) so you will have to put a sleeve in the mount for the earlier smaller bolts. not a big deal. took about 15 min to do, bout an hour of shoppin at the local hardware store(not home depot, somethin like ace). anyway, ill try to put a link to my old post too
