Radius arm brackets, DONT's

Sorry just feel the need to vent,

As i was working on my uncles 93 F-150 I took the wheel off the Pass. side, began taking off the spindle components. (ball joints, U joints) (Radius Arm Bushings) I about had a kanipchitfit.!!!!! It seems one of the rivits had broke, well his garage where he lives, simply clamped it tight to the frame and WELDED IT, yes WELDED it to the frame. What a Mess, the funny thing is the bracket is cracked and needed relplaced. What I mess. I tell ya, give some people a welder and..... Enough said.

You are correct, that is a very BIG don't. You know you can bolt the radius arm bracket with grade 8 bolts.

Thats what I dont get, It would have taken 4 minutes or less to drill, cut or whatever to remove the broken rivits, Instead the JACK#@#$ welded it to the frame. I have some tearout from the weld, but its repairable.

I learned from a buddy to cut the rivits, remove the bolt and bracket to do the BUSHINGS, its so much quicker and easier.

A few grade 8 bolts, I just dont get it
