5.8L EFI Engine tick?

My 96 F150 5.8L recently aquired a tick coming from the right side of the engine. So I thought for sure it was a exhaust leak, but there is no leak and it only makes the tick when the engine is under load. For example reving it in nuteral you can hardly hear it,but if you put it in drive and apply the brake/gas you can hear it tick pretty good. What would make my engine tick only under load? A piston pin or rod bearing? If it is a exhaust leak I would think it would do it all the time.

Honestly.. that sounds more like and exhaust leak, there's a lot more pressure behind the exhaust when the vehicle is under load, so it would be louder. Check the air injection system and EGR plumbing as well as the manifold to Y-pipe connection.
