Talking Crazy Idea

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone have seen an after market swing arm for the spare tire. believe it or not the spare tire takes up space i need. i do alot of mountain biking and it's a pain trying to get my bikes in and out the truck, since my bike rack broke while transporting my bikes, yeah that sucked!!!
Since that mishap i've been thinking of a way to mount the spear tire on the outside of the truck

I think J C Whitney sells various outside spare tire mounts. I bought a front mount from them years ago for then new 1983 E350 which had originally had an inside mount spare. This particular mount was a univeral type and it worked great over the 12 years that we had the van.

Give this a look:

I'm with buzzbait. I'd be afraid of mounting a spare on the rear doors.

your right, mounting it on the rear door is out of the picture. I have seen shows where they somehow modified and the mount a swing arm to the rear bumper. maybe my crazy idea is just that. I can also get a roof mount, but that's not what I'm going for.
