I just purchased a set of Toyo Open Country M/T's 35x12.5x18. Yes, thet are a bit pricy but just to let you know they are on sale. I got mine for $287 a piece from discount tire. You might want to check them out there before the sale ends.
what size rims do you have? That could be the difference between 300 and $400 per tire. I think it will be very hard to find an inexpensive 38" tire that performs great offroad and is still quiet. I ran a set of the Interco TrXus STS radials......they are cheap, but they are exactly that.....CHEAP. They lasted maybe 25,000 miles and weren't that great to begin with. Not sure what to reccomend.....just don't get those lol
Yes i need more then 25,000 a tire, I have 18's now but when I am buying the tires im buying 20's thats another thing I wanted about toyo MT has the 38x13.50-20
looks like thats probably my only option for a good road and offroad tire in that size, I could do 40's but trying to still be fast Im doing 38's, I need to regear in the future for 40's i still have the stock gearing
I have heard pretty good things about the Super Swamper SSR's.....they are alot quieter then the TSL's. Those tires are tough as nails offroad......but ON-road habits aren't that great. Pretty much a tossup to get the "perfect" tires
4 wheel parts wanted something like $425 a tire. Crazy. I also know that the 35x12.5x20 was only $25 more. Search on the net for prices see what you come up with then take those prices to discount. They should match whatever you find. Mine were $2 over their cost. They also have great prices on wheels and can get anything you want. Check them out.
I have the pro comp Xtreeme all terrains on mine. They are a little noiser than stock but nowhere near the noise of a mud terrain. Plus they have a 50,000 mile tread warranty. Have close to about 10,000 on them already and they still look new even have the little rubber "*******" on the sidewall and treads still. Also I paid about 150.00 a tire. although I only have 305/70/R17's dont know how much for a 38
