ok finnaly have a good tranny to put in my truck, i might actually be able to use the thing finally.
anyway i want to install a temp gauge in the tranny and im not sure if i want to put it in the pan or the line coming out of the tranny. its a c6 and freshly remanufatured. does the c6 have a thermostat of any kind in it? this is a reason i have gone with a gauge in the past. i had a friends car the electric thermostat in the tranny just stopped one night and the whole thing melted. so in the pan and if something like that starts to happen i would know. however the fluid out would be the hottest and give me a faster reading. any ideas? what have you done? which line on the c6 is the out and which is the in? what is a normal cruising temp for these?
there is no thermostat in a c-6 the line at the front of the trans is the outlet and basically putting a sensor in the pan is usless because the fluid there is the coldest the outlet line will give the correct temp reading
