John,
I have a Toyota p/s box in my `56 with the original steering column.
I was just thinking about upgrading column to a tilt. I was wondering
what year Ford trucks first offered tilt columns, as I want to keep
it as simple as I can and all Ford. Most new offerings by Ford are pretty
simple and clean. Anyway, thanks for your info and if you have anything to
add please do. Happy New Year.
Gary, You are confusing me, are we talking about a 66 or a 56, if the later you are in the wrong forum. The 56 is a straight axle truck and the 66 is twin I-beam.
I do have a `56 F100. I`m in this forum only to get information
I cannot get in the `49 to `60 forum. I`m assuming it`s ok to go to other
forums to get info. If not I apologize.
I just wanted to find out what year Ford offered tilt steering in
their trucks. You furnished that info and I appreciate it. Thanks again
and Happy New Year
John
I guess now, you have me confused. With all due respect, I asked about a tilt steering column in a 1966 Ford f100. Never meant to confuse anyone. I never asked about a tilt steering column in a 1956 Ford f100. The correct info you gave me was the info I was seeking and again I thank you.
I`m simply trying to find a suitable tilt transplant to my `56. And again you are correct - I`m going to have to go to aftermarket or find a `78 or later pickup and
modify to fit. And again I apologize for confusing you or any of your fellow`60 to
`66 forum members. Think I`ll stay with the `48 to `60 forum, its less confusing.
Thanks again.
If you, or anyone, reread my posts in this thread, you would have to
agree that I have to gone to great lengths to be very polite to you and
this forum. So, I have to assume a person with 13930 posts must have
the right to be as impolite as they want in this forum. ( re: your post #9 above)
I will end this by again thanking you for the correct info you offered.
And I`m thrilled your not confused about your dist.
Happy New Year
