Hey all, I'm like brand spanking new to this forum, but have had my truck for about a year now. It's come to the point where I need to replace the engine, and I've decided to go local here in Seattle, and purchase on from USengines. It will be a stock 390, which will replace the 390 that is in my 78 F150.
If done some searches on the board and can't find my answer. I wondering if anyone knows the best headers to use for the 390 that will work with my 4x4. I have a 6" suspension lift as well on it. I would like to purchase the headers before I put the engine in so I can just put it all together during 1 time. I've read reviews that the Hedman headers can be tricky with the starter placement. I was curious on your alls thoughts. Also where is the cheapest place to get these said headers.
Again it's a 1978 F150 4x4, lifted 6". The original engine was a 302, but was replaced with a 390, and i'll be replacing it with a 390 to boot.
when you get the headers one of the papers with them says something about if you have to break the engine in with these headers...... i never read it but i saw the paper the other day when i was cleaning and tossed it
