Transmission problems... I think
Hi everyone, I sure hope you can help me out with my problem. I just had my rear differential redone on my '01 Expedition 4x2 XLT. It only has 53,000kms on the clock.
Anyway, after having the differential redone TWICE i'm still noticing a clicking or clanking noise when the expy shifts from 1st to 2nd gear or from 2nd to first gear. This time I know that the noise is not coming from my rear end. It sounds like it's coming from the transmission. My OD light is not flashing and i'm not getting any sort of warning lights.
When I brought it to ford to change the rear end I noticed that when i fooled around with the propeller shaft I heard a noise coming from the tranny. Any ideas on whats wrong? If i'm park on a steep hill and i shift it out of park there is a noticable noise.
