Question Need help with leveling kit

Hello all this is my first time here, I have a question for you all. I recently purchased a 3" leveling kit for my 2005 F -150 4X4. After doing some research I found that other people have bought the 2.5" kit saying the 3" is not good. Has anyone does this and does it look OK. I haven't put it on, I want to know will it make the front end higher than the back. Thanks

The 3'' might be to much for the front. I have the 2 inch and that is perfect for me and my Lariat.

Yeah I think the 3" is going to make you sit about .5" nose up unless you do an "add a leaf" in the back. I did the 2.5" kit in the front and I think I'm pretty level (pics in my gallery).

you will want either add-a-leafs, larger blocks, or airbags. the front will definately be higher..... although, if it is an inferior brand lift, it may not be a "full 3 inches" as described. best way is to try it, and see. you may have to look funny for a few days until you get the back squared away, but its the only way to know for sure.

Well should I try to return the 3" for the 2.5" . I got them off ebay?? The brand is hellbentsteel, has anyone heard about these. Or should I just add a leaf in the rear, would that level out the truck with the 3" in the front??

dont waste the money to have someone do it for you.... it is very easy to do, and only takes about 30-40 minutes for the first side, and then 20 for the second. then get the alignment re-set, and your golden.

as for you little big red, it is very hard to say if you will be level. i mean, sure you can run the numbers all day long, but you never really know how it rides until it is on. all these lifts are made just a little different for the thickness, so it is just best to put it on and see what you need. but i would say that for the money it costs to get add-a-leafs for the rear, and then the work to install them, you will be better off just getting airbags. not much more money, way easier to install, and you have control-ability over them.

just my .02

I put on a Truxx 3" level kit and the truck looked like it sat perfectly But just recently, I added Firestone Ride Rite #2350 airbags to the rear, so that when I tow or haul anything substantial, I can just pump up the bags to level it back out.

I agree with MattD...just slap yours on and see how it looks. Guaranteed the first thing you'll do next is get beefier tires to make up for all that exposed wheel well!

I have a 2005 FX4 and put a 3" leveler on it. It was very easy, it only took about an hour and 15 minutes total. Mine is a ProComp and it did end up making my front end a little higher. I'm now contemplated the best way to even it back out. I havent gotten my new tires yet either so it still looks a little funny. Anybody know the best bang for the buck for air-bags?

get the firestone ride rite system... i believe their p/n 2350. they run around 220.00 for the bags, and then if you want a compressor, they start around 200.00 as well.

I just received my 3" front leveling kit in the mail. How do you measure the product to see the actual size , I know some are made smaller than what they say. I keep hearing that it will make the front higher. Should I return them??

just get the blocks in the rear, i did and love the way it sits now, i had a 2.5 up front and when i towed my quads or snowmobiles it sagged way to much in the rear. I added the blocks and it still sits level with the trailer on. i bought the 1.5" lift blocks.
