I just bought a used 03 Expedition and it has what appears to be an engine block heater. That's my guess as it was originally titled in Montana. Well, the plug is mounted in the area where the bumper grill would normally be.
Since I live in the mid-Atlantic, I don't really need an engine block heater but I would like to have a grill insert.
Does anyone know any grill inserts that may work with this or if I will have to have it removed?
Ken, I have an 03 F250 with the block heater...mine looks nothing like what I'm seeing in your photos.
Your photos are very hard to see. The last two were the best of the lot and again, what you took a picture of looks nothing like the plug on my truck.
On my truck, I have a 3 pronged plug (it looks like the male end of an extension cord) that sticks out about 6 inches from around the passenger side towing hook. The plug simply tucks behind the bumper. The plug does have a cover but it is loose and not mounted to anything around the front of the truck. The wiring itself merges into a wiring harness that's held with nylon cable ties.
