So I'm still in the process of troubleshooting the fuel delivery issues on my '88 that I plow snow with (I actually haven't looked at it since well before Christmas ) and I came across a pretty good deal on a '90 XLT. Is there any difference in the frame from an '88 to a '90 that would impede mounting my plow on the '90? Are there any substantial differences at all? My '88 is in such bad shape that it's not even streetable anymore. So I'm thinking if this '90 is decent, it might be worthwile to pick up and keep the '88 around for parts. The '88 has a new clutch, new axle joints, newer brakes, good tires, air bags in the front springs and many other useful parts. I'm going to look at the '90 after work tonight or else tomorrow. Anything in particular to watch out for with a '90? Thanks and happy New Year!
Depending on where your plow mounts yet it is different. From the core support forward everything is different. From the core support back everything will be the same. You might luck out with the 90 and get a Dana 35 which will be stronger than the Dana 28 in the 88.
The end of the frame rails are different. The bumpers are different and have different mounting locations.
i never knew this. is it only the front bumper that is diff? guess ill have to make me a new one. hopefully the rear is the same, since i have a duff bumper.
