360 t0 429

I'm thinking of swapping my old 360 for a 429 (both c6 auto) in a '72 F250 2wd, any suggestions and/or pitfalls to be aware of would be appreciated

Grab a set of engine perches from a mid/late 70s pickup with a 460 and it should bolt right up.

460: 1973/79 F100/350 = all the same.

You'll need two perches (Right/Left), two engine mounts (Right/Left the same) and two engine mount brackets (Right/Left).

You'll also need the transmission support bracket and the mount.

I'm not sure if the FE C6 will work with a 429/460.

If it was me, I avoid all the swap hassles, and rebuild the 360 into a 390.

The C6 from a 429/460 Big block or a C6 from an M block will work. Unless you really want the stick with a C6 I would look into an overdrive off a later 460(not an electronic overdrive)
