89 302 header install

Hey fellas, I am in the process of intalling headers on my 89 F-150 and was wondering what you guys do with all the bracketry and what not that bolts to the stock manifolds. thanks for any help

what bracketry? I know the oil dipstick bolts to manifolds. you might still be able to bolt it up, maybe use a spacer inbetween the dipstick and the header, the headers are probably not as thick. I cant think of anything else.

Do your manifolds have a steel insert that protects the plug boots from heat? Describe what you mean by "Bracketry"

I just removed them on mine, no problems with the intake falling over in 7 years and counting...

oil dipstick, heat shields and a brace that goes from the coil to the manifold on the drivers side.Passenger side has similar brace that goes from intake to the manifold as well as a heat shield.My ground wire went to the brace at the intake. Anyways will prolly take Conanski's advice and leave them off.
Thanks, anyone else have any tips?
