5.4 or 4.6?
Also wondering about that Heavy Duty Payload package that puts the extra lugs and Light Truck tires on there, as well as the upgraded trans and radiator cooler which I guess are the same as the tow package upgraded coolers? What is the advantage to this option? Does anyone have this option?
I bought a brand new 2007 f-150, XL, regular cab, 4x4, 8 foot bed, tow package plus many other goodies with the 4.6 V8 figuring I did not need the larger V8 with just a regular cab. I love the truck but have a little regret not getting the largest engine. Not that there is anything that could be done now but just want to know some opinions about this. I dont use it in any real heavy use situation. Tow with it 3 or 4 times a year 4,000 lbs combined boat gear and trailer. Most of the time only a quarter mile trip. Haven't gone farther yet and not likely to since I dont like towing much anyway. Mostly use it for light loads, road trips and around town. I dont drive it everyday its a second or third vehicle for our family. I actually have a Chevy van for work (second one) and was planning to buy a Chevy pick-up until I saw the new Fords and looked at the website The Truth About Trucks and got a good education on them and as well from my local mechanic who strongly recommended them over anything else. Plus the styling and design was superior to anything I was looking at. I even looked at the Toyota Tundras and when I asked about any rebates on them the Sales Manager told me that they weren't "whoring them out yet" that took care of that. LOL. Thats all behind me now and I am a dedicated Ford truck guy!
Anyway glad to have found this site and just wanted to share this little story and say I am glad to have found this truck, it rides beautifully and what a joy to look at! Dark Blue with Tan interior, nice!

The 4.6 and the 5.4 are both great motors and if you're happy with yours then don't worry about it. There's always somebody out there with a bigger motor or bigger something. I like my '98 and I'm not planning on letting go of it anytime soon. So checkout the forums and give the place a good looking over. While you are looking around be sure and stop in your state chapter: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum87/
Enjoy!
