I have done a bit of research on here regarding daytime running lights and the information i have found all pertains to 2002 and newer. It does not reference a 2000 (Like what i have bought and am in the process of importing into Canada). Since this it is mandatory to have your headlamps on here in Canada, i need to get this activated in order to pass the federal inspection before being able to get it plated here.....
Can anyone confirm what is needed for a 2000 Excursion?
On a sidenote, i am in desparate need of a well written very detail oriented manual on the 2000 X V10. What are my best options, based on personal experiences????
Looking forward to getting through this and getting some photos up here on the site!!!!
I would contact your local Ford dealer and ask them about the module thats needed for the DRL. I have an '01 X that was sold in Canada with DRL so it should just be a module plug and play issue, imo.
I just installed a set of amber fog lights and have the relay set up to come on when the ignition is on. They work great for DRL's. The control switch for the relay is in series with the coil circuit for the relay so I can leave them off or turn them off if I need to sit with the key on.
On reviewing your link #2, that would be what you would need. If you notice, it is a genuine Ford part sold by a Ford dealership. Probably cheaper than what the dealers up here would charge ya, but I'd still call and check it our first.
