jump starting problem
Having a problem jump starting with a 1999 7.3. The terminals are clean, batteries are in good shape and it doesn't work with either battery. The 6.0 or the uhumm Tahoe fire the skid steer right up. I had to jump start the 7.3 with the 6.0 on an extremely cold day the other day and it worked fine, but cant use the 7.3 to start anything. Any suggestions????

I've left it hooked up for about 10 minutes and holding about 1,300 rpms for 2 minutes or so of that time with no help. I'm going to recheck terminals, but weird I can jump it but not use it to jump another.

How old are your batteries? If you have weak batts they may not be holding what a good pair of batts do.
Remember, if you replace them, you need to replace them both at the same time.

Be sure to check the wires, not just terminals. My brothers 99 wouldn't start or take a jump and it was just the cables were extremely dirty, it ended up being the connection at the wire to the ring that connects to the battery. We pulled the wire out and cleaned everything good and reconected everything and the truck started fine on it's own.
