When I get home from work my truck honks periodically. I noticed that the doors are locking as well when this happens. I took the only keyfob apart to see if was causing the issue, it did not help. I am having a battery issue as well. Could it be that the low voltage is causing a problem or is there a problem causing the battery issue? I have to jump my truck occasionally, especially now that it's cold. I don't want to invest in a new battery if there is an underlying issue.

The only way the system will honk the horn is if a key fob or the keyless entry buttons are pressed more than once - unless the system is getting such a low current reading that it is starting to act up. Have you left the battery out of the remote for a few days to see if the hinking stops all together?
If you are already having problems with your batteries starting the truck I would start by replacing them and see if it alleviates the issue. Having good batteries will make all the difference in the world on a lot of things on the truck. Besides, it is a small price to pay for piece of mind.
i would do both batterys,,they are 3 o 4 years old. the older battery will pull juice from the new one and shorten its life. both batterys in a dual system have to match.
