Will the tranny from a 1991 2WD F-150 work in a 1993 4X4 F-150? They both have 5.0 motors. I'm still going through search resaults, but can't find anything specific to my question.
Thanks.
If you can do the work yourself, ebay has cheap rebuilt transmissions. I got the engine for my truck from ebay. Fluteline Engine Reman, They are from Arizona. Cost me 1275 shipped. Runs like a champ.
With the chevy's you can just swap out the output shafts id call one of the local tranny shops and ask if they do it or not. also you could always just make it a devoriced t-case like the older 70 pickups were.
Well it's at the tranny shop now. I'm afraid to answer the phone to hear what they have to say$$$$ The one thats in there now slips internitentaly while in drive and it's getting worse. It also started to clunk when I put it into reverse.
Thanks again everybody, I'll keep you posted.

I ended up putting a used tranny and TC in the truck and it's pretty much doing the same thing except it dosnt clunk when going into reverse. It's an E4OD. Could it be something to do with the computer? I find it hard to belive both trans. would be doing the same thing. It really starts to slip when you hit about 35mph.
Thanks for any ideas in advance.
