What to Expect...
First post, I'm looking at selling my 99' Land Rover Discovery and picking up a Excursion 4x4, I prefer the diesel but so far gas models are all that I have found available locally in my price range. When I bought the Discovery I did so without much research, and that really bit me in the backside (paid $5k for the truck, over $3k in repairs the first month), so what do I need to know about this beast other than the gas mileage? Primary use will be cross country trips when I move back to the mainland next fall and I will be using it a lot on my cousins ranch when Im hunting in the sticks (western South Dakota).

If you can afford it get a 7.3 diesel the year it was in the Excursion was 00-03.
Very good and dependable engine and will last a long time. Not to mention it will get better MPG than a gas would
