my baby is a 94 F-150 with a modified 4.9
i do alotta pullin and i drive 30 to a hundred miles one way every day to my job
i just want it to sit a lil high and not ride so rough when towing
im already gonna stack 2 inch blocks on the back and get some new springs stacked on my existing ones and then have them re*arched
BUT what i need to know is what all do i need to do a 3 inch suspension life in the front THE RIGHT WAY!!!
plz does anyone have any info with this?
You say 'stack' blocks in the back, I hope you don't mean stacking multiple blocks on either side... I've seen some IDIOTS do this and its a HORRIBLE idea. One block on each side PLEASE.
As for the front lift, there's a few things you can do. The cheap route to get about a max of 2 inches lift would be to get coil spacers. If you want to spend a few more bucks and have a better quality setup, with a little more room for height, you'll wanna get some radius arm drop brackets and new/taller coils. Of course you're also going to need to get some camber adjusters to bring your alignment back into place. I recommend having a shop do the alignment unless you're especially skilled in the field
Lastly, if you wanna smooth out the ride while towing, you might also consider a low budget airbag kit for the rear. My brother put bags on the rear of his truck for around $500 (he knows the guy at Les Schwab) and it did WONDER for the ride when he's pulling weight. When the truck is unloaded it doesn't make much difference.Lemme know if I've answered your questions.
EDIT: Whoops, just noticed you said 2wd. I'm not especially familiar with the front end on the 2wd trucks so perhaps you can't use radius arm drops... Someone else will correct me here if I'm wrong.
If you want to raise the front cheaply, springs from a 2wd F250 or 350 will raise it up.
And for the back take a leaf pack from a F250 or F350 and bust it apart and add the longest one to your spring pack.
