i have a 05 f-350 6.0 powerstroke dsl. i put banks powerPDA in my truck and my understanding was that i could change the speedomiter but it only changes what it says on the PDA and not on the speedomiter. so how can i cahage the speedomiter myself?
The VSS signal is sent first to the ABS module then on to everything else. If your tires are not larger than 601 rev/mile (approx 35") the dealer can recalibrate the PCM for the larger tires. If the tires are larger than this, then you need and A/M device that wires into the VSS signal wire after the ABS module. The Superlift Truspeed is the original with the longest track record. I believe there are several of the FTE sponsors that carry these.
i bought the truck with a 8 inch lift and 38 inch tires. so where would it be wired in and how would it be changed? also what if there is no Speed Sensor Recalibrator is there any other way to change it?

Look up under the dash by the steering colum and see if there is an A/M Truspeed box there. Check the link i posted earlier and you can look at the install instructions. The only way to correct the VSS signal for that large of tire is with an A/M box like the Truspeed.
i looked on my truck and could not find any thing to change the recalabrate the speed si their any other way?
No there is not when you go to tires that large. Just order a Truspeed and be done with it. IIRC some of the FTE sponsors sell them. Give Motorhaven a call and see if they have them.
